Apple employees also discussed utilizing the Vision Pro’s eye-tracking software to gather additional data on how a patient may exhibit emotion. For treatment, the headset could then display sounds and images to evoke positive feelings and improve mood.
Apple did not immediately respond to Gizmodo’s request for comment. Rumors have circulated before about Apple’s interest in mental health tracking. Like the discussions about the Vision Pro, the iPhone could provide Apple with insights into a person’s temperament through data from the keyboard, cameras, and audio sensors to track metrics such as facial expression, sleep patterns, and typing speed.
However, CEO Tim Cook mentioned at WWDC that he hopes the Vision Pro will revolutionize AR/VR in the same way the Mac did for computing and the iPhone did for cell phones.
