Appfigures recently conducted an analysis of 730 apps that were optimized for the Vision Pro. These apps include exclusive ones designed for the headset and iOS apps that have incorporated a native Vision Pro experience. The aim was to gain insights into how developers were responding to Apple’s latest device.
The findings revealed that 73% of Vision Pro optimized apps were either paid (26.5%) or required a subscription (46.7%). Only 26.7% of Vision Pro-optimized apps were completely free. This starkly contrasts with the App Store, where paid apps make up roughly 5% of the offerings.
However, this discrepancy is expected at this early stage of the device’s life cycle. It is noted that ad-supported apps or data harvesting may not generate significant returns due to the device’s newness in the market. Some developers have reported significant earnings from these apps.
It remains to be seen whether paid and subscription apps will continue to dominate the offerings for Vision Pro’s native apps. It appears that more than one new owner of the Apple Vision Pro might have convinced themselves that they deserve it when purchasing the futuristic headset with a *Cyberpunk*-esque vibe.
